Don't you hate it when you realise it's almost Valentine's Day, or you're nearly at that dinner party, or you really should thank your neighbor for keeping your plants alive - and you have zero gifts in your possession? If you need a last-minute present that makes you look like you've put a ton of time and effort into it, I believe these super-simple chocolates could be the solution. They take five minutes to make, they're pretty damn cheap and they look fancy (and I won't tell if you make a double batch and keep half for yourself).
CHOCOLATE, ALMOND & FLEUR DE SEL CLUSTERS
Makes one gift-sized batch
2 x blocks of chocolate (dark, preferably, if it's for me)
2 cups of raw almonds
A few pinches of fleur de sel (i.e. fancy French salt, but really and salt flakes will do)
Break up the two blocks of chocolate into a microwave proof bowl, and microwave for two minutes. Remove the bowl, give it a stir and make sure all the chocolate has melted. Throw in the almonds and stir to combine. Line a baking/cookie tray with baking paper/aluminium foil and start creating your clusters - try a heaped teaspoon for each, but they can be as large or small as you like. Pop the tray in the fridge - in a few minutes, they'll be hard and ready to pop into a cute jar, simple paper bag or your mouth. (They'll be prone to melting in hot weather, FYI).
