These Days

Wow. Just wow. That's how I feel about the last few weeks. It's been PACKED, and there's no sign of it slowing down (Deep South road trip, we're coming!). We've been to Palm Springs, had an American Thanksgiving and an old friend in town, plus, we've been trying to get over a lurgy. And, you know, WORK. Lots of it!

I learned how to hula hoop (okay, tried to learn) at Echo Park with friends...

We drove to Palm Springs with the pooches for a mini-break (more on that, later)...

We found a chili joint that's remained unchanged since the 1940s...

Alisha--who I met when I worked in the UK after high school--came to stay, and we showed her around town. There was record breaking rain, such a bummer! We visited the Beverly Hills Hotel for hot chocolate, Langers for a number 19 sandwich and the Hollywood Museum, in the old Max Factor building (the bathrooms were incredible!). I found it fascinating to hear about Factor's history - he was a Jewish immigrant from Poland who invented make-up as we know it. Before him, there was no lipstick, mascara, false lashes or foundation.

And all the while, the animals were their usual amusing selves...

I can't remember a busier month, but it's been fun. What are you up to these days?
